About speed and courage

In the startup world, speed and courage are two sides of the same coin. While speed is what keeps you ahead of competitors and gives you momentum, it's courage that keeps you on the right path. Speed without courage can lead you to rapidly build something irrelevant. You can quickly build a solution in search of a problem (I've been there). Courage helps you face the uncomfortable truths about your product, market, or even your own ideas, and makes it possible to pivot swiftly when necessary. The challenge is to balance these two forces; speed pushes you forward, but courage corrects your trajectory.

The idea maze, the phase where you're exploring different concepts and directions, is where courage is most crucial. It's tempting to lock onto the fastest route, but that eagerness can lead you astray. Courage empowers you to question assumptions, test them against reality, and listen when evidence points somewhere unexpected. It teaches you that building something great is seldom a straight line but a winding road that requires both rapid shipping speed and the bravery to occasionally stop, reassess, and even backtrack. In short, courage is your compass, guiding you toward meaningful, enduring success. Be bold.
